1 week old!

My little man is 1 week old today! I can't believe how fast the time is already going by. It has been a busy week and we are finally starting to settle into a routine. We have actually come close to getting 8 hours of sleep the past couple of nights...not all at once of course, but cumulatively. He has slept as much as 4 hours at once and could have slept longer, but we are not supposed to let him go more than 4 hours without eating because of his jaundice.

The day we checked out of the hospital, they found that he
was slightly jaundiced, so they had him doing treatment with

the bily-blanket at the hospital, which is basically a neon blue

light that you place against their skin to draw the jaundice out. He had to wear the little eye covers to protect his eyes from the light. We have also had to supplement my breastmilk with formula because the more he eats, the more of the jaundice he will eliminate when he pees and poops.

I am so glad that Raphael is able to be off of work for a few weeks to help out and spend time with Conner. He has been such a tremendous help and is an excellent daddy! He may have changed more diapers than me at this point! I am very blessed to have such a wonderful family.
