This morning on my way to work I had to stop and fill up my car (read: huge stinkin' SUV) with gas. As the dollars and gallons counted up, I closed my eyes and said a little prayer. I was prepared for the ugly truth. I knew I would be paying over $60. When the tank finally filled up, the automatic fill-up lever thingy clicked off. I walked back towards the nozzle to wrap up my business and head out. That's when I noticed that the little lever thingy hadn't clicked off in time, and the last bit of gas was overflowing out of my car and onto the ground.
"Nnnnnoooooo!" I screamed as I stared at my $3 laying right there on the ground in front of me. It was too late. Gas is too thin to scoop up and save. I almost shed a tear.
I looked around and noticed that all the other gas station patrons had solemn looks on their faces. I reasoned that they must be feeling my pain. Or, it's possible that they were crying over their own totals as they all had SUV's as well.
