Leaps and Bounds

Ever since he was born, my little man has been in no big hurry to do much of anything. He rolled over late, sat up late, got teeth late, and still has hardly any hair. That's also part of what has made him such an easy baby, though...he's so laid back and calm. I've been telling people for the longest time that he was just never going to crawl. He was strong enough for sure, but showed absolutely no interest in it whatsoever. Well, about a week and a half ago, while we were at my dad's after Sunday dinner, he just got on his hands and knees and crawled for a few feet to get to a toy! We were all watching him and shrieked so loudly that he got scared and sat up! Here is a picture from his first crawl...

Ever since then, he will crawl a little bit to get to the nearest toy, but he still won't just up and crawl across the house or anything. And his crawl is very funny as he uses one knee and one foot. He looks like a frog.

Then, yesterday (just a week after the first crawl), I went to pick him up from my grandma's house after work, and she told me that he had been standing all by himself. She got him down on the floor to show me and sure enough, he could stand there all by himself for at least 30 seconds. And he could have done it longer except that he kept lunging at me to be held.

He also got 2 new teeth in the past 2 weeks, so now he has a total of 4 teeth!

All of a sudden he just hit this little spurt of growth and development. He's still practically bald, though! ;)

Yay baby Conner! He's just a late bloomer. I'm telling you it's because his brain development is taking all of his energy. He's the next Albert Einstein. So sure of it!
