We didn't go very far, though, as neither of us are fond of flying and we wanted to spend the majority of our free time relaxing instead of driving. We headed to Tucson and stayed at the El Conquistador hotel.
We both agreed that we did not want to plan anything or have any schedules. We simply wanted to chat (we are very good at that), read, and relax. No schedules and nobody to answer to but ourselves. And we did just that! Apparently we are very good at being lazy...
A few months ago, as a joke of sorts, Jen got me an Edward doll as a nod to my brief, but all-encompassing Twilight obsession! Then she was so jealous of my doll that she got herself one too! And of course, the Edwards came along to keep us safe. We actually even brought our Twilight books, thinking we'd read through them all again, but I read a different book by the same author (The Host) and it was really good.
We literally only left the hotel one time, and that was to go out to dinner and see a movie. We saw The Reader which was good, but depressing, and went to dinner at Olive Garden. We did spend the entire day on Saturday lounging at the pool and people-watching. It was pure Heaven! I defied science, however, by being the first person in recorded history to receive a sunburn from sitting exclusively in the shade! I honestly was only in the sun for two minutes total as I walked to and from the restrooms twice. It was so pathetic!
It was really great to get away and take some time for myself, and I came back refreshed and more patient, which makes me a better mother. Now I must go cook dinner and tend to my child...sigh!

How fun! Glad you got some time for relaxation =)
That looks FABULOUS!! I'm jealous. Not of the Edward dolls... just the pool lounging and relaxing! haha! That picture of you passed out with your head in your book is priceless, lol.
