Crap, I was going to get the shot next week! My OB recommended it. Aside from the fact that I really don't trust anything that is said on the Fox News network, a professor I had last semester at ASU in my research class mentioned to us that vaccines have NEVER been linked to Autism. There was one study that started the whole controversy and apparently the results were made up! Check it out, seriously...
Still don't know if I'm going to get the shot though. SRP is supposed to have them next week.
Yeah, it's hard to know who to trust. Everybody has their own agenda. I personally don't ever get the flu shot. I think if you are healthy then the flu is no big deal and you can get it once each winter and then you are immune for the year! I don't give my kids the flu shot either. If people would just stay home when they do get sick instead of going to work or sending their kids to school anyways, then we wouldn't have such a problem with it spreading every year. Although, I have to say that when I was pregnant I was a bit worried about the swine flu. They say it is bad for pregnant women...but then again, who are "they" and what is their real agenda. I'm such a nut! ;)
We live on an acre on the edge of a large city in the Southwest. My husband is a computer nerd and I stay home with our two boys. We were both raised in the big city and never learned any real-life skills until we stumbled upon this little plot of land five years ago. Ever since then, we have been on an accidental journey of learning to enjoy the simple things in life. We are weird!
