Good Days

Since Raphael has been off of work on paternity leave, we have been having some pretty great times as a family. Today, for instance, we decided to push aside our projects we've been working on and have a picnic lunch at a playground. The weather has been so nice, we are trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

So we spent nearly two hours packing up the kids and car, and we headed out! The only problem was, we suddenly couldn't think of a single playground nearby. I knew there was a big park near our house, but when we got there, they didn't have any playground equipment for little kids. We drove around for a little while, trying to figure out which direction to head, and then it dawned on me that we could probably just stop into any masterplanned community and find a playground.

Finally, a mere 3 hours after we had the idea, we arrived at our destination!

First we ate our lunch, which consisted of ham and cheese sandwiches, crackers, carrots, grapes, hummus and pita bread, milk, and brownies. You would have thought we'd never eaten before. I get a little excited at the idea of a picnic! So I was a little disappointed that Conner was far too excited to play that he hardly ate anything. Oh well.

(Please ignore the disgusting mess on the ground...it was not ours, I swear)

Conner went up the stairs and down the slides about a million times. For some reason, he is not interested in swinging at all...never has been. He doesn't like the back and forth motion. He still tries to get on them every time, though, and then wigs as soon as they start moving.

Is it just me, or does this slide look a lot like...uumm...you know...

I'm sorry, but as soon as I saw it, it's all I could think about. Hey, I just had a baby...it's been a while. ;)

Moving on.

Once again, Conner loved the little airplane, until it started rocking back and forth.

Needless to say, we had a good time and even scoped out a few other playgrounds in the neighborhood that were different, so we may hit those up in the future.

And naturally, Logan slept pretty much the whole time.
